A Cisco Active and Wireless engineer is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining wireless networks that support business applications and users. Some of the tasks that a Cisco Active and Wireless engineer may perform are:
Primary Responsibilities and Activities: Install and troubleshoot Cisco wireless networks, wireless controllers, access points, network access control systems, wireless network management tools, and wireless security solutions. Evaluate the performance and reliability of wireless networks and devices using various tools and methods, such as monitoring, testing, analysis, and optimization. Use Cisco’s best practices and standards to ensure the quality and security of wireless networks and services. Provide technical support and guidance to users and customers who are experiencing wireless network issues or need assistance with wireless network operations. Document the design, configuration, and operation of wireless networks and devices using reports, diagrams, and manuals. Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in wireless networking technology and Cisco’s wireless products and solutions. Collaborate with other network engineers, IT managers, and stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and implement wireless network projects and upgrades.
Primary Work Arrangements: This role will report directly to Manager - Network. This role will lead, manage, and use a team third-party partner for day-to-day operations. Documentation – designs, Assessments, Policies, configuration, Supports various audits and Compliance. bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, Cisco certification, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, or CWNP, or equivalent knowledge and experience in wireless networking, strong knowledge and understanding of wireless networking technologies, protocols, standards, and best practices, such as 802.11, Wi-Fi, WLAN, WLC, AP, NAC, WNM, QoS, IPv6, VoIP, etc., proficient skill and experience in using Cisco’s wireless networking products and solutions, such as Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Cisco Aironet, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, etc. , good skill and experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving wireless network issues and problems using various tools and methods, such as AirMagnet, Site Survey, Protocol Analyzer, Cable Tester, etc.
Work Experience
Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of Firewall Management experience and at least 2 years of experience in Palo Alto and Fortinet is must. Hands-on experience in handling Firewall rules and troubleshooting whenever required. Required Knowledge and Skills, Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation, Strong leadership skills with Excellent analytical and technical skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Excellent planning and organizational skills, Understanding of network and security architecture
