Position Overview:

As a key member of Lupin Limited's Mechanical Unit II under Manufacturing Operations, the Manager in the Engineering & Services Department will oversee and drive all engineering functions related to equipment commissioning, validation, preventive maintenance, and developmental initiatives. This leadership role demands a strategic and hands-on approach to ensure seamless operation of manufacturing equipment and utilities, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities ensuring timely commissioning and validation of plant equipment, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with the production department to implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules that reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
  • Review and execute preventive maintenance plans according to established schedules, ensuring adherence and timely completion.
  • Manage and guarantee uninterrupted supply of critical utilities including HVAC systems and water resources in alignment with plant requirements, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
  • Support the transition and handover process post-installation and commissioning of machinery, confirming operational readiness and compliance with standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to equipment, instruments, and control systems such as PLCs, HMI/MMI, and IPCs with a focus on minimizing production impact.
  • Ensure stringent adherence to change control, deviation management, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) processes, tracking implementation progress to timely closure.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of validation and qualification documentation to confirm equipment and system compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Oversee calibration schedules for instruments, guaranteeing accuracy and traceability in line with quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and validate software and PLC systems maintenance activities to support system integrity and reliability.
  • Develop and execute manpower planning strategies including shift schedules to promote continuous operations without operational downtime.
  • Champion energy conservation initiatives across the plant to enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation within the engineering department according to Standard Operating Procedures, supporting audit readiness and knowledge management.

Work Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 10-15 years of progressive experience in engineering management within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment. Proven expertise in overseeing equipment commissioning, preventive maintenance, validation support, and troubleshooting complex control systems is essential. Hands-on experience with HVAC, utilities management, and energy conservation measures will be highly regarded. Demonstrated leadership abilities in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing shift-based operations are critical for success in this role.
